Terms & Conditions

Bookings, Deposits & Payments:


1. All cake bookings are subject to a non-refundable booking fee equalling 25% of the total value of the cake order (including delivery charges if applicable).

2. The date of the event is considered “booked” upon receipt of the deposit and a signed contract.

3. The final payment is due 4 weeks prior to the event.

4. If the cake is booked less than 4 weeks before the event, the deposit will equal 100% of the total cost.

5. If the Customer fails to make the final payment by the due date, The Wedding Cakery will cease work, the order will be cancelled and no refund will be given for any payments made to date.

6. Accepted methods of payment are cash or bank transfer.


Liability:


1. The Wedding Cakery is not responsible for any damage to the cake or shortage of cake caused by anyone not employed by The Wedding Cakery, following collection or delivery.

2. The Wedding Cakery will always endeavour to deliver the cake to the venue within the delivery time slot however we are not responsible for any delay or inability to deliver based on accidents, natural disasters, transportation issues, inclement weather, illness, death, disputes or strikes, or any other circumstance beyond our control.


Postponement (date change) / Cancellation:


1. The Customer must notify The Wedding Cakery in writing (text, email, letter) if they need to postpone their event or if they need a complete cancellation.

2. A change to the date of the event cannot be guaranteed by The Wedding Cakery and is subject to availability.

3. If the date change is available and is requested more than 4 weeks prior to the original event date, no penalty fee will be charged.

4. If the date change is available and is requested less than 4 weeks prior to the original event date, the Customer will be charged an additional 25% fee on top of the total cake value (this is to cover costs of any work that has already took place / ingredients purchased that will no longer be suitable for use on the new date).

5. If a cancellation occurs more than 4 weeks prior to the date of the event, all money will be refunded to the customer minus the 25% booking fee.

6. If a cancellation occurs less than 4 weeks prior to the date of the event no payments will be refunded.


Changes to Order Details:


1. Any changes must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the date of the event and may be subject to additional costs.


Design of the Cake:


1. The Wedding Cakery will follow the Customer’s requests closely to create the cake desired, however we cannot produce an exact copy of another cake artist’s work. All our cakes are bespoke and can be made with similar design features using any examples provided for illustrative purposes only.


Serving Amount & Sizes:


1. The Wedding Cakery serving size estimations are based on dessert slices of approximately 2 inch across, 1 inches deep and 5 inches tall or finger slices of approximately 1 inch across, 1 inch deep and 5 inches tall. (Tall cakes provide additional portions based on the tall slice being divided in half creating slices of approximately 3.5 inches tall).

2. The Wedding Cakery is not responsible for a shortage of cake servings if the pieces are cut too large.

 

Allergy & Dietary Warnings:


1. The Wedding Cakery does not provide allergen free baked goods. We take great care to avoid cross-contamination, however we cannot guarantee any of our recipes are 100% free of any of the 14 recognised food allergens, in particular:

·        Cereals containing gluten

·        Eggs

·        Peanuts

·        Nuts (tree nuts including Almond, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Cashews, Pecan Nuts, Brazil Nuts, Pistachio Nuts)

·        Milk

·        Soya

2. Natural dyes, artificial dyes, artificial flavourings, sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificial colour and other allergens not listed may also be present.

3. The Customer is responsible for pointing out to their guests, the potential allergy hazards.


Ornaments & Structural Support:


1. Our cakes contain structural supports (dowels / straws) which must be removed prior to consumption.

2. Any wired flowers or ornamental decorations must be removed prior to consumption.


Delivery and Set Up:


1. The Customer is responsible for providing a suitable environment for the cake at the venue.

2. The Wedding Cakery will take photographs of the cake at the venue, once set up is complete. The Customer or someone on their behalf at the venue must sign a waiver to ensure the condition of the cake is satisfactory.

3. Once the waiver is signed, The Wedding Cakery is not responsible for the cake.


Photographs:


1. The Wedding Cakery reserves the right to use photographs of the cake for advertising purposes (only after the date of the event).
